Halloween! A day we expect to be a little scary,
frightening and spooky! We’ll get over
this potentially fearsome tradition…usually with an abundance of candy,
costumes and parties!
However, you know what’s really scary for
many people…the fear of change!
In reality, the fear of change is one of the most common
reasons for resistance to change because it stops us from taking any action at
all. The
Fear of Change can hold you back – stop you from taking action and creating new
opportunities, new beginnings and achieving personal and professional growth!
And that’s really scary!
One of the effects when someone fears change is anxiety.
Anxiety can make you resist change by stirring up fears of what is not
known. The anxiety underlying our fear
of change leads to other more specific fears that support a resistance to

The fear of change that people hold can be an enormous

process and allowing people to be part of the process will lead to lower levels
of resistance to change and higher acceptance and engagement in the change.
